The final Avengers: Endgame trailer is out, a month before the movie itself is released, and with it brings a grim, grim view of the present Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) still reeling from the half the population of the universe wiped out by Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War.
But with it, also comes a glimmer of hope as a semi-new team of Avengers, comprising Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan) and most excitingly of all, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), vow to bring things back to the way they were, no matter what it takes.
“Even if there’s a small chance, we owe it to everyone in this room to try,” says Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow.
“We will,” replies Steve Rogers. “Whatever it takes.”
And with that, a new trending hashtag #WhateverItTakes is born.
The new trailer doesn’t give away much beyond a few tantalising glimpse of the heroes in action and the team in new white suits seemingly heading off on a mission, but needless to say, April 26 can’t come sooner.
Avengers: Endgame opens in Malaysia on April 26.
